Kallie found us through our mutual friend, Ann (Hi Ann!), and booked us on the spot! And wow, we can’t be happier with the images we grabbed from her and Zack’s wedding. There are a lot of classic b&w photos in this set and honestly, their wedding commanded it. From the historic Travis Park United Methodist Church (nearly 150 years old!) to Kallie’s father giving her away in uniform, there was a certain timelessness about this wedding that captured our attention and made our jobs so easy. Their families and friends obviously loved them tremendously; and that’s something Andrew and I are always so blessed to witness first hand. Kallie and Zack, thank you SO much for inviting us to share in your wedding day. We wish you a lifetime of joy!

As mentioned in our New Year’s post, Phil proposed to Allyson on New Year’s Eve 2008 and invited us to shoot it. We also went out for a mini lifestyle session afterwards and got some engagement-like shots out of it.
Allyson was a little caught off guard because it was a surprise, but I think they both did a great job struttin’ their stuff in front of the lens. Andrew and I have known Phil and Allyson for a while now, so it was an honor to share in this moment with them. (Unfortunately, Drew was en route to Korea, but he sent his congrats by twitter.)
We traveled around Austin, starting with the proposal at the Arboretum, then headed out to the 360 bridge, and finally to the Parmer events center. While they were being chauffeured around in a limo, Enoch and I followed them in Allyson’s BENZ. Wow, what a ride! After it was all over, they let me take the limo back to the airport for my flight back to Dallas. I gotta say, it was a downgrade.
Shout out to Enoch Lai for coming along and acting as navigator/lightstick holder/good company.
Phil tied the ring to a stuffed bunny rabbit he gave Allyson early on in their relationship. He stole two stuffed animals from her place that morning and put them in a huge Tiffany wrapped box.

Finding out that she was just RE-GIFTED, Allyson kept digging to the bottom of the box, nearly tossing the stuffed animals to the ground.

Fortunately, the ring did not fall off the ribbon and Phil had something to propose with.

Here’s Phil pretending Allyson said “no”. He just threw the animals to the ground. What a drama king.

And, finally, a slideshow I made with Animoto.com. This online slideshow maker makes us look GREAT! (Note: This is just the low-rez version.)
We’d also like to take a moment and congratulate America’s new president, President Barack Obama! And, (not that it matters), his official White House portrait was taken with a Canon camera; the same cameras Table4 uses. ;-)

True story. Sherwin booked us before he even asked Jeanie to marry him. ![]()
This wedding could not have been more perfect! Beautiful location (Annabelle Mansion in Burleson, TX), beautiful bride, studly groom, and some of the funnest people we’ve had the pleasure of photographing! If you’re wondering why “Burleson, TX” sounds familiar, that’s right, it’s Kelly Clarkson’s hometown. I was secretly hoping that she would be at the wedding, but I guess her invite got lost in the mail or something because she wasn’t there. :-/
Jeanie & Sherwin, thanks for booking us before you were engaged, (Jeanie, thanks for saying yes) and thanks for the fun times and great people! I can’t believe we get paid to do this…

I’d like to take a moment to talk about how important it was to have both Andrew and I at this wedding. While he was shooting the guys, I was shooting the girls. While he was shooting from below, I was shooting from above. While I was out taking the above images with Jeanie & Sherwin, Andrew was back at the house taking portraits and cocktail hour photos. While I was taking family portraits, he was taking detail shots of the reception. While he was shooting the toasts and parent dances, I was shooting the reactions. See where I’m going with this? :-)

The Tran party continues! Nguyen is brother to Vivien (whose wedding we shot in May,) so we knew just how much fun and crazy his wedding would be waaay before this weekend. Thi and Nguyen definitely hosted our largest wedding in 2008. They had the entire Maxim’s Chinese Restaurant reserved and filled to the brim. Nguyen is a film producer out in California and Thi is a professional Asian tv drama observer. We started the day off with a traditional tea ceremony at Thi’s house (oh how we love the food at tea ceremonies!), then it was off to the park for some bridal party extravaganza. The best man even got to chasing around some ducks. We ended the night at Maxim’s where there were 40+ 10-top tables celebrating with the newlywed couple. Yes, that is over 400 guests (and 40+ table toasts)! In between the Karaoke craziness, Nguyen surprised all of us by serenading Thi with his majestic voice and graceful handling of the ivory. It was a fun, relaxed night of eating, singing, and dancing. Thanks for having us Thi and Nguyen! You rock.
We’re trying a new viewing method here. Click through the images with the arrow keys or hit Play to sit back and enjoy the show. ![]()

Tara & Jeremy were married in Longview, TX on a beautiful ranch out in the middle of nowhere. There couldn’t have been a better location as the backdrop to their wedding was big open skies and a medley of trees.
This was a ridiculously awesome privelege for me to shoot with one of Dallas’ best photographers, Erik Clausen of POSER : IMAGE. I’m so grateful I was able to take part in this wedding and witness such a beautiful ceremony. One thing that neither Andrew or I have ever seen at a wedding is applause as the bride enters with her father. At that exact moment, I remember a sinking feeling in my chest and thinking, “W O W. Wait, what’s going on??” But, I kept working so I didn’t give myself time to dwell on it or realize exactly what was happening. The more I think about the guests clapping as Tara enters, the more I realize just how fortunate and blessed I was to share in the moment. And the more I have hope that my wedding, my future bride’s character, and moreso, my relationship with her, will receive as grand an entrance as theirs. Thank you Tara, and Jeremy, for everything. (and Erik!)
