TJ and Jason have been married for 5 years now. Jason and I have known each other for over 10 years. Therefore, I > TJ. j/k. They are perfect for each other and needless to say, I was honored to photograph them for their 5th wedding anniversary at the historic Belmont Hotel in Dallas. It’s a real 1940′s motor hotel built in 1946 and refurbished in 2005. The details, construction, linens, and gorgeous downtown views complete the feeling of a different time and place.

Most of these photos are treated in B&W because I felt their images needed to be presented without the distraction that is sometimes color.

Pretty much from the 2nd frame, I had Jason take off his tie and loosen his shirt. I think it was a good decision.

We attempted some more themed/playful images here.

You can make out my ugly plaid shirt in the reflection here. Maybe I should have taken off my shirt too.

Ok, last one is in color because…well, the sun was too awesome to be made black and white.

Congrats Jason and TJ for making it this far. I can see decades and generations of happiness coming your way. (And congrats on the bun in the oven!)

Steven and Nicole are cool. Cooler than me. Probably cooler than you.

AH! It’s raining umbrellas!

We spent a lot of time inside this gutted out super rocket. After all, we are in Houston.

They love to read. Like, really love. So, we went to Domy Books in Houston so they could love while reading.

Then off to a local art museum where we tried to sneak in, but failed. So, we took pictures by the doors.

It rained too! Yea, that’s not gonna stop them from making out.

Finally, we were honored to be featured on Glamour’s new WEDDINGS section. Right next to sex, love & life. Glorious. Go leave them some comment love after you’ve left some here!

Speaking of being featured…yesterday, Grace Ormonde gave me a shout-out on her blog. Flattered is the first word that comes to mind, then quickly after, embarrassed.
In case you don’t know who Grace Ormonde is, she’s:
-married
-editor in chief of Grace Ormonde Wedding Style magazine
-photographer and high end bride friendly
-making a huge impact in the wedding magazine industry
I’m flattered to be mentioned in her blog and just glad I somehow stuck out in her mind.
Guess what I got in the mail yesterday! Of course, the winners of our canvas contest (thanks to everyone who participated, by the way!), Christy and Stephen’s image from their wedding in Houston came in as a gorgeous 24×36 gallery wrap!

This shot of Queenie and Carson’s Vegas wedding was taken with this canvas in mind. I still don’t think it’s big enough though….

Each of these are wrapped in a standard frame thickness.

You can really see the texture of the canvas in this image. From Casey and Aric’s Moon Palace wedding!

A helpful size comparison. Most people think 16×20 is plenty big. It’s not.
Once these are put up on my walls and the new “home studio” is finished, there will be more photos to come!

Meet Ricky and Gayla. Ricky is one of my many (too many) Aggie cousins. Unfortunately we were already booked up on their wedding date, but we still had a great time capturing some moments for their engagement session! These guys look soooooo good together it’s unfair.

After I showed them this shot, they said they looked like superheroes. I would have to agree.

Ricky is a BIGGGGGGGGG shoehead. He even broke out his beloved Spacejam’s that he had been hoarding just for the photos! Now that’s true love.
