Trash the Vera Dress – Maui

DESTINATION WEDDING

I have to admit that I am probably not supposed to know as much as I do about Vera Wang’s dresses. And I definitely am not supposed to have an emotional attachment to them. But, I’m a wedding photographer, and I see a LOT of dresses – all perfect for whoever is wearing them, but I’ve gotten to the point where I know a Vera when I see one. And I appreciate the craftsmanship and care that Vera puts into each dress. So when Tiffaney decided to take her Vera to the top of Black Rock and jump into the ocean, a part of me cringed while an equally sized part of me cheered with excitement. What started off innocently enough on a private beach…

Now, Black Rock – climbing. Up the side of the rock. In her dress. Demo dive by the local.

The amazing sequence I was able to capture – this is where I’m thankful for long zoom lenses!vera wang trash the dress, black rock maui wedding jump photography, maui wedding photography

And still my favorite frame from the series. I LOVE the perfect spacing between all the limbs and fingers. And I love how graceful Tiffaney looks.

BONUS footage from a GoPro Hero3 I rented for the week. The jumping footage was shot by their friend, Caleb, who was on life guard duty….just in case the dress was too heavy.
