As mentioned in our New Year’s post, Phil proposed to Allyson on New Year’s Eve 2008 and invited us to shoot it. We also went out for a mini lifestyle session afterwards and got some engagement-like shots out of it. 🙂 Allyson was a little caught off guard because it was a surprise, but I think they both did a great job struttin’ their stuff in front of the lens. Andrew and I have known Phil and Allyson for a while now, so it was an honor to share in this moment with them. (Unfortunately, Drew was en route to Korea, but he sent his congrats by twitter.)
We traveled around Austin, starting with the proposal at the Arboretum, then headed out to the 360 bridge, and finally to the Parmer events center. While they were being chauffeured around in a limo, Enoch and I followed them in Allyson’s BENZ. Wow, what a ride! After it was all over, they let me take the limo back to the airport for my flight back to Dallas. I gotta say, it was a downgrade. 🙂 Shout out to Enoch Lai for coming along and acting as navigator/lightstick holder/good company.
Phil tied the ring to a stuffed bunny rabbit he gave Allyson early on in their relationship. He stole two stuffed animals from her place that morning and put them in a huge Tiffany wrapped box.
Finding out that she was just RE-GIFTED, Allyson kept digging to the bottom of the box, nearly tossing the stuffed animals to the ground.
Fortunately, the ring did not fall off the ribbon and Phil had something to propose with.
Here’s Phil pretending Allyson said “no”. He just threw the animals to the ground. What a drama king.
And, finally, a slideshow I made with Animoto.com. This online slideshow maker makes us look GREAT! (Note: This is just the low-rez version.)
We’d also like to take a moment and congratulate America’s new president, President Barack Obama!  And, (not that it matters), his official White House portrait was taken with a Canon camera; the same cameras Table4 uses.  😉
